Family Events
Second Church offers many opportunities for families to come together. Whether it is through fellowship like our movie nights following the bean supper or going to a hockey game together or service and outreach like caroling to our seniors. Their are many opportunities for families to spend time together - getting to know one another, the church community, and God in deeper and more real ways.
Advent Workshop
Our way into Advent begins with an Advent Workshop held at the same time as worship, during Church School time. There are many Christmas crafts and ornaments to make. Cards are decorated by the children for our homebound church members. This is a favorite tradition at Second Church.
Bible Sunday
In May, we celebrate Bible Sunday with the Second Graders. During Worship, the Second Grade class leads the congregation in the Lord’s Prayer which the have studied and learned throughout the year. Immediately following, they are presented with their own engraved Children’s Bible. It is a special time for the children and their families.
Children’s Sunday
The Children’s Sunday Worship in late May, concludes the church school year. The service is lead by the children, which has a special theme. Each class participates in some aspect of the service and there is a teacher appreciation blessing offered during this time.
